Key Responsibilities
This is how you'll help us succeed
- Member of small team of database engineers in supporting company-wide data initiatives and operational excellence
- Expert in designing, writing, and optimizing SQL code (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, etc.)
- Create long-term plans and execution of tasks required to support the performance, capacity and reliability of our database systems
- Spearhead research and implement data solutions for ConnexPay specific product requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot, identify and resolve database/infrastructure related issues
- Working with additional SQL flavors such as Postgres
- Building and supporting an IaaS/PaaS/SaaS platform
- Implementing data retention, data access and data security policies
- Data migration, data replication, user administration, backup and recovery, etc.
- Working with GitHub, Bitbucket or comparable source-control tool
Qualifications
Applicants for this role will have:
- BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or related/equivalent experience
- 5+ years of intensive experience in MS SQL/T-SQL
- 3+years of IT operations experience with a strong understanding building enterprise database solution
- 5+ years of experience with Databricks in Azure
- Extensive Python and PySpark coding experience, creating, managing, troubleshooting and debugging a complex code base that parses, processes and stores very large time sensitive financial datasets securely
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with strong and proactive work ethic
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Experience creating and managing complex ETL pipelines spanning several platforms a plus
- In-depth knowledge of Parquet Files, Delta Tables and Medallion Architecture a plus
- Experience with Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) a plus
- Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation tools such as Azure DevOps or Team City a plus
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services a plus
- Experience or working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric/PowerBI or similar analytics tools a plus
- Experience working in a PCI and SOC2 compliant environment a plus
- Claude-Code experience or equivalent AI coding tool a plus
- Prior Financial Industry or payments experience a plus
