Honora Care Management & Consulting has spent more than a decade supporting older adults and their families with dignity, clarity, and deeply personalized care. Known for its trusted relationships and thoughtful guidance, Honora has long been a go-to resource for families navigating complex aging decisions.

Honora is now part of Alder, a next-generation aging life care practice with more than 30 years of experience and a growing presence across the Northeast. Together, we combine local credibility and relationship-driven care with a broader platform, stronger infrastructure, and an expanding professional network.

This is a rare opportunity to help build Alder’s New York market at an early stage—shaping how we show up, who we partner with, and how families find us.

The Role:

We’re hiring a Director of Business Development to own and grow Alder’s professional referral ecosystem across NYC, Westchester, and surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for someone who knows how referrals actually work in New York: trust, consistency, follow-through, and credibility over time. You’ll be responsible for developing deep relationships with key professional partners and translating those relationships into a steady flow of high-quality client referrals.

You will be Alder’s face in the market—on the ground, in rooms that matter, and in ongoing conversations with professionals’ families already trust.

Responsibilities:

Own Referral Generation in the Westchester, NY and Fairfield County, CT markets:

  • Build and manage a portfolio of referral partners including elder law attorneys, trust & estate attorneys, financial advisors, fiduciaries, physicians, senior living operators, and related professionals.
  • Develop long-term, trust-based relationships that result in consistent, qualified client referrals—not transactional one-offs.

Be deeply embedded in the local ecosystem:

  • Spend significant time in the field: in offices, at lunches, at small events, and in follow-up conversations.
  • Identify where Alder should be present (and where it shouldn’t) to build credibility efficiently in the NY market.

Drive thoughtful, high-touch partner engagement:

  • Organize and host small-scale events such as dinners, lunch-and-learns, and educational sessions for professional partners and their clients.
  • Collaborate on co-branded resources (guides, presentations, talking points) that make it easier for partners to confidently refer families to Alder.

Partner closely with the Alder clinical and marketing teams:

  • Work hand-in-hand with care managers to ensure referral partners experience excellent communication, responsiveness, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate with marketing to align messaging, materials, and follow-up around referral activity.

Track what’s working and adapt:

  • Use HubSpot and internal dashboards to track partner activity, referrals, conversions, and pipeline health.
  • Share insights with leadership about what’s resonating in the market, where momentum is building, and where strategy should adjust.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or relationship-based sales.
  • Experience selling into professional referral networks (healthcare, legal, financial, or adjacent services).
  • Comfort operating independently in a field-based role.
  • Strong judgment, follow-through, and the ability to build credibility with sophisticated professionals.
  • Familiarity with aging services, healthcare, or complex family decision-making
  • Genuine interest in mission-driven work and helping families through high-stakes moments.
