Director of Sales Engineering and Solution Design
Zus Health
We’re seeking a seasoned and technically sophisticated Director of Sales Engineering & Solution Design to join our commercial leadership team. As healthcare organizations accelerate their adoption of AI and data-driven approaches to care, the way they evaluate and adopt platforms like Zus is changing. This role sits at the intersection of technical strategy, customer partnership, and market shaping. You will define how prospects experience Zus - from first technical conversation through product deployment - and ensure every engagement demonstrates clear, measurable value.
You’ll lead and grow a high-performing team of Sales Engineers while staying deeply hands-on in solution architecture, AI-augmented workflows, and complex pre-sales efforts.
You’ll partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to define best practices, shape the product roadmap, and ensure Zus consistently delivers transformative outcomes for customers.
As part our our team, you will
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, setting clear expectations, coaching on technical depth and customer engagement
- Establish team operating playbooks and a culture of continuous learning across AI, interoperability, and solution design
- Recruit and onboard top-tier technical and commercial talent as the team scales with Zus’s growth
Solution Design & Technical Architecture
- Personally drive solution design and technical architecture for complex, high-impact prospects in a healthcare setting
- Create detailed architectural diagrams (data flow, integration topology, system context) that clearly communicate how Zus fits within a prospect’s technical ecosystem
- Design and validate customer integrations with Zus APIs, healthcare data models, and interoperability standards
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex integrations, edge cases, and customer challenges
- Develop and maintain a library of reference architectures, reusable solution patterns, and integration blueprints that accelerate customer delivery
- Design solutions that incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities - including clinical data enrichment, intelligent matching, predictive insights, and workflow automation
Pre-Sales Execution & Technical Storytelling
- Own and execute the technical pre-sales motion, from discovery through proof-of-concept and handoff to post-sale teams
- Deliver and oversee technical demos and executive-level presentations to audiences ranging from engineers to C-suite stakeholders
- Translate sometimes ambiguous customer requirements into crisp, feasible technical proposals with clear success criteria
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product and Engineering to translate customer feedback into product improvements and roadmap input
- Ensure a smooth, well-documented handoff from pre-sales to Customer Success and Implementation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve go-to-market strategy, technical enablement, and sales effectiveness
- Balance leadership with execution—jumping in wherever needed to help the team and the company move fast
