The Director, Product Management will lead a team of Technical Product Managers (TPMs) in bridging the gap between our business goals and technical implementation, ensuring that our healthcare products and services align with our strategic objectives. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare professionals, software engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders, to create and manage a portfolio of healthcare products that meet the needs of our provider and payer operations.

On the day-to-day, you will:

  • Manage a team of TPMs that work closely with scrum teams, coaching them to lead agile delivery as a Product Owner and assisting in removing roadblocks for them
  • Lead TPMs in collaborating with stakeholders to gather and prioritize technical product requirements, ensuring a deep understanding of user needs, technology trends, and regulatory requirements in the healthcare industry, as well as own, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, including definition of user stories and acceptance criteria, assessing impact of defects, and providing key input on decisions
  • Lead TPMs in communications to ensure stakeholders are informed of development ROI, investment planning, changes, and execution progress across the program, as well as demonstrate strong capability to present effectively to senior leadership
  • Work closely with engineering, solution architecture, domain SMEs, and healthcare professionals to drive product development, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions, and acting as the glue between business partners and technology organization
  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company's mission, considering both provider and payer perspectives in the healthcare ecosystem
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies to facilitate efficient product development cycles, including facilitating solution design and backlog grooming sessions, and participating in daily scum, sprint planning, and iteration reviews
  • Champion user-centric design principles, collaborating with design teams to ensure the development of intuitive, user-friendly healthcare products

Job requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; professional experience may be substituted
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of product management experience required in the healthcare industry, with exposure to provider or payer operations
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of decomposing business requirements into features and user stories, as well as writing technical documentation to support solution delivery
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a technical role as an analyst or engineer
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with Agile methodologies, leading product teams, and managing end-to-end product development processes and product lifecycle management
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills in settings with seniors, their families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Strong negotiation skills, as well as an understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate those needs into actionable product requirements
  • Experience leading in a data-driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects
  • Must possess a strong technical understanding to effectively communicate with engineering teams, make informed decisions, and provide guidance on technical feasibility and limitations
