We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Engineering to lead our application and data engineering teams at Welbe Health. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and maintenance of our software applications and data infrastructure, driving technological innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that empower our mission of providing exceptional health services. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology strategy and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. The leader is a member of the WelbeHealth leadership team and facilitates collaborative relationships across WelbeHealth and with external stakeholders to promote WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission.

Essential Job Duties
- Provide strategic guidance and technical direction to both application and data engineering teams. Drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions that meet the organization's needs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Ensure effective communication and coordination between application and data engineering units.
- Collaborate with the VP of Technology and other senior leaders to define the organization's technology roadmap. Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance our products and services.
- Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to guarantee the reliability, security, and performance of our applications and data systems.
- Partner with product management, design, and other departments to align engineering efforts with business goals. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Manage engineering budgets, allocate resources effectively, and optimize team performance to achieve operational efficiency.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of engineering initiatives. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding of top engineering talent. Foster a diverse and inclusive workforce while retaining and developing existing team members.
Job Requirements:
- Masters or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant business management qualification is a plus.
- At least 5 years of proven track record of leading and managing large-scale engineering teams, including application and data engineering.
- At least 5 years’ supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Extensive experience in software development, with a deep understanding of modern software engineering practices, methodologies, and technologies.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Prior experience in the healthcare or health services industry with strong healthcare data domain knowledge.
- Experience leading healthcare data integration projects with HL7, FHIR and APIs would be a great plus.
- Demonstrated success in driving innovation, process improvement, and achieving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Salary/Wage base range for this role starts at $170,000.00 -$200,000 DOE + Bonus + Equity. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other qualifications.
