What you’ll own in this role:

The Operational Excellence Manager is a systemwide role that partners with a physician to form a dyad leadership team overseeing a specific ambulatory specialty line (primary care, surgery, or specialties). This role is responsible for the strategy and execution of clinical, economic, and operational outcomes for services across the client’s ambulatory enterprise. The Manager will be accountable for overall operations within the service line, ensuring best practices and policies are aligned, developed, and followed at all sites across the health system. This team member will be responsible for approved margin, growth, and quality targets aligned with the health system objectives.

The Operational Excellence Manager will work closely with their physician partner to oversee all functions of the practice locations, including operations, marketing, finance, assisting in managed care/third-party contracting when requested, physician compensation and reimbursement information when requested, medical and business information systems, ancillary service general knowledge, and planning and development. This position requires leadership, collaboration, and communication. Work situations are frequently non-routine, requiring a broad vision of the future of healthcare, sensitivity to the values and expectations of medical staff, management, employees, patients, investors, and community constituencies, and the use of discretion and good judgment in decision-making.

The Operational Excellence Manager reports to the SVP, Ambulatory Practice Management within the Health Catalyst Ambulatory TEMS department. External contacts include consultants, competing organizations, professional organizations, physicians, and regulatory agencies. Internal contacts include physicians, staff, and management throughout the client Health System and Medical Group, requiring close collaboration and coordination with executives, innovation and clinical quality staff, nursing, and medical staff. This position is broad in scope and encompasses a wide range of services, requiring organization and interpretation of information relating to a wide variety of policies and programs. Leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

What you bring to this role:

• Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or related clinical area preferred (or equal experience)

• Four (4) years of professional or technical experience, of which 1 year is in healthcare project management, strategic planning, driving and achieving system performance metrics, or managing diverse stakeholders in a system-wide implementation in a health system or group practice environment

• Managerial or supervisory experience preferred

• Experience in ambulatory operations preferred

• Consideration may be given to candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications
