Senior Financial Analyst

As part of our finance organization, you will play a key role in working alongside management team members to manage annual forecasts and identify efficiencies and strategic opportunities within the business. You will be responsible for preparing metrics-based reporting to demonstrate the operational efficiency across the company. The Finance department acts as the analytical engine of the company, providing insights that support proactive and optimal business decision-making. As a member of the Finance team at TraceLink, you will also be involved in other finance department activities.

Responsibilities

The following duties represent the primary responsibilities of the position. Others may be assigned as needed:

  • Build relationships with R&D and COGS department heads to become a trusted financial partner, assisting in accurate forecasting and supporting analysis/reporting.

  • Work with senior leadership and other internal customers to develop and measure industry-standard metrics critical to understanding TraceLink’s Cloud and R&D infrastructure.

  • Partner with senior business and finance leadership to identify opportunities for driving scale and efficiency in our cost structure and fostering an organization focused on continuous process improvement.

  • Participate in strategic analysis and modeling on an ad-hoc basis. Projects may include benchmarking against other SaaS companies, analyzing potential acquisition opportunities, and market pricing analysis.

  • Conduct variance analysis, outlining the causes of changes compared to budget, forecast, and prior year, highlighting risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support financial month-end closing activities by working closely with the accounting team, including reviewing expense accruals.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers in the company's cost structure to prepare thoughtful analysis.

  • Support and maintain the Adaptive planning model.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, and an MBA is a plus.

  • 5+ years in an FP&A role, preferably in a high-growth SaaS company.

  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and ability to create meaningful, detailed analyses to inform decision-making.

  • Familiarity with developing/maintaining operations headcount models.

  • Experience with finance systems such as Adaptive Insights, Workday, and NetSuite is a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop planning calendars and meet deadlines effectively.

This role sits full-time (5 days a week) in our Wilmington, MA headquarters.
