Accounting Manager – India Entity Accounting
Location: Chennai (Hybrid)

About This Role


We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to support and manage
entity-level accounting for Toast’s India operations. This role will be responsible for
ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local statutory
requirements, and timely close processes, while managing and developing a team
of accountants.
You will collaborate closely with global accounting, tax, payroll, and FP&A teams,
as well as external auditors and advisors, to support a growing and dynamic
business in India.
What You’ll Do
Manage end-to-end accounting activities for Toast’s India entities, including
monthly, quarterly, and annual close
Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with
Ind AS, local statutory requirements, and Toast accounting policies
Own balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations, accruals, prepaids,
fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
Act as the primary point of contact for statutory audits, tax audits, and
regulatory filings Partner with global accounting teams to ensure alignment on accounting
policies, processes, and controls
Support internal controls and SOX compliance, including documentation,
testing, and remediation
Collaborate cross-functionally with tax, payroll, legal, and FP&A teams to
support accurate reporting and business needs
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency,
accuracy, and scalability
Manage, mentor, and develop a team (currently a 3 member team)
Support ad hoc accounting projects, system enhancements, and cross-
functional initiatives


What You’ll Need
Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) or equivalent; Semi-qualified or
Qualified CA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on
entity-level accounting
Strong working knowledge of Ind AS and Indian statutory and regulatory
requirements
Prior experience managing or leading a small accounting team
Experience with month-end close, audits, and financial reporting
Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel skills

Nice to Have
Experience working in a multinational or high-growth technology
company

Exposure to SOX-compliant or US-listed organizations
 Experience supporting global accounting operations and intercompany
accounting
