The Toast Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management Program provides a coordinated, company-wide approach to identify, measure, monitor, mitigate, and treat risks while enabling the business to innovate and deliver quality products and solutions to serve our customers.
Toast seeks an experienced Compliance Manager to support the oversight and execution of its Global Compliance Testing, Regulatory Change Management, and Compliance Issue Management programs within the Enterprise Risk & Compliance department. This role will manage and perform compliance testing activities, assess and track regulatory changes, and oversee the timely and effective remediation of compliance issues.
Work Mode: Hybrid (WFO twice a week in Bangalore office)

About this roll*
Global Compliance Testing
- Control & Transaction Testing – Support the oversight and execution of compliance testing activities assigned by US-based Global Compliance Testing Manager.
- Reporting – Provide accurate and timely updates on assigned work to the US-based Global Compliance Testing Manager.
Regulatory Change Management
- Regulatory Change Oversight - Manage alert monitoring, applicability/impact assessments, and implementation tracking.
- Compliance Obligations Inventory – Oversee translation of applicable laws and regulations into discrete compliance requirements and ensure accurate entry into the enterprise GRC system.
Compliance Issue Management
- Centralized Intake Process – Support the implementation and day-to-day oversight of the centralized intake process for compliance issues and ensure issues are inputted into the enterprise GRC system.
- Monitoring & Validation - Manage updates from Compliance Leads on open issues to ensure progress aligns with remediation timelines and SLAs. Oversee validation of issues.
Other Responsibilities
- Help supervise Senior Analyst based in Bangalore, ensuring adherence to methodology, documentation, and quality standards.
- Support preparation of various reports to Compliance Leadership and governance committee.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and other technology, where appropriate, to support efficiency in day-to-day compliance work.
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum 6–8 years in regulatory compliance, risk management, or audit, preferably in FinTech, banking, technology, or consulting.
- Familiarity using enterprise GRC systems
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Regulatory change processes such as tracking developments or maintaining regulatory inventories.
- Second-line compliance testing, including drafting test plans, executing testing, or documenting issues.
- Supporting or managing issue management frameworks (e.g., logging, tracking, or validating remediation).
- Familiarity with U.S. and/or global laws and regulations impacting Fintechs similar to Toast in areas such as (but not limited to): financial crimes, payments, lending, or consumer protection.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge, influence, and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Experience supervising junior team members, including setting direction, reviewing deliverables, and giving constructive feedback.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for organizing information, maintaining trackers, and preparing deliverables; experience using and customizing enterprise AI tools to streamline manual or repetitive tasks.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
