The Strategic Finance team is responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across the company. We are seeking a Manager of Strategic Finance to partner with cross-functional leaders to drive initiatives including business planning, corporate strategy, and strategic projects. This is a high-impact role that will offer substantial leadership exposure and the opportunity to drive long-term shareholder value in a hyper-growth environment at scale.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Serve as the Finance business partner to key decision makers for one of Toast’s business units. Partner with organization leaders in monthly, quarterly and annual strategic and financial planning discussions.
• Analyze business results, forecast to actual variances, and trends and communicate important takeaways and actionable insights, including identifying risks and opportunities
• Design, implement and track important metrics to measure performance against strategic goals, identify emerging trends and provide insights about the drivers of performance
• Use SQL and BI tools to automate reporting and generate insights that will allow business leaders to quickly and accurately see how our business is performing
• Collaborate across all levels of the organization by building strong cross-functional relationships and developing a deep understanding of Toast’s business model, including unit economics, product and market strategies, competitive context, and internal processes
• Act as a strategic partner, providing financial expertise and guidance on how to evaluate multiple investment opportunities to drive sustained margin growth
• Complete ad-hoc business projects and financial modeling analysis that drive decision-making
• Frame and break down complex problems into key components, analyze large datasets to drive actionable insights
• Grow and develop a team of high performing financial professionals

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a combination of Strategic Finance at a high-growth tech company, or a mix of FP&A, investment banking, investing (PE, VC, hedge fund), management consulting.
• Expert Excel skills; extensive experience building three-statement financial models and analyzing large data sets
• Excellent communication skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
• Experience as a people manager including active development and recruitment of high-quality talent
• Effective project management skills; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
• History of building positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization
• Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
• Proficient in SQL and experience with big data analytics
• Experience with data visualization. Can confidently choose the best visualization style for the given context; the insights from your visualizations speak for themselves
