About the role:

We are currently searching for a Business Development leader to support strategic and operational objectives across our client portfolio. As the Associate Director, Director or Senior Director of Business Development, you will network within the Drug Discovery industry and generate awareness for TandemAI's innovative new platform of services and software that is transforming how discovery is executed. You will drive growth by expanding and growing a pipeline of opportunities and converting them to meet revenue goals.

TandemAI offers the challenge and opportunity to work with a large and diverse client-base to drive growth of the business with innovative discovery services and cutting-edge computational technology. This role will also provide consistent opportunities for professional development and growth as you expand TandemAI's client base across the drug discovery industry.

What you will do:

Business Development Leadership

  • Identify, evaluate, and transact new opportunities that align with TandemAI’s software, computations, and wet lab services platform to drive revenue growth.
  • Identify and engage new clients by networking with leaders in biotech, pharma and venture capitalist firms through conferences, hosted gatherings, and other external events.
  • Support new client interactions through meeting organization, confidentiality documentation and SOW creation in collaboration with TandemAI legal.
  • Support and manage current TandamAI clients through business and operational interactions.
  • Support negotiations and / or negotiate for TandemAI in all business interactions with current and future clients.
  • Provide prosecting and BD updates, as well as sales projections to leadership on a routine basis.

Subject matter knowledge of

  • Biopharma and biotech industry trends, regulatory, legal and commercial issues
  • Brings an established broad network of relationships, able to communicate effectively with other individuals in business development.
  • Able to perform complex analyses of a range of opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred, preferably in life sciences, chemistry, computational sciences, business or marketing.
  • A combination of scientific and business education/experience is highly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development with a record of accomplishment in leading and executing transactions in lab services or software sales.
  • General awareness of drug discovery process, challenges, and trends within the industry.
  • Good business instincts with fluency in business analytics and valuation methodologies
  • Proven ability to drive business decisions, while managing multiple projects effectively.
  • Superior oral communication, written and presentations skills with demonstrated self-awareness when engaging clients and prospects.
