Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and communication-strong DEL Hit ID Lead to drive the execution, coordination, and scientific integration of DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) campaigns across multiple early discovery programs. This individual will serve as a key connector between DEL science, reagent generation, discovery units consisting of chemistry/pharmacology/biology/CADD/Cheminformatics, and CRO partners.
This role is ideal for a scientist with a deep understanding of DEL or related small molecules Hit ID methods (HTS, phage display, or mRNA display), paired with exceptional cross-functional communication, troubleshooting capability, and program leadership. It is a high-impact scientific leadership position that ensures clarity, alignment, and timely delivery of DEL Hit ID outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
DEL Campaign Leadership & Execution
- Lead day-to-day scientific and operational management of DEL campaigns across discovery programs.
- Translate high-level DEL and Hit ID strategies into actionable plans, clear deliverables, timelines, and decision points.
- Partner with DEL Director and scientist to ensure coordinated campaign execution and timely resolution of scientific or operational challenges
Scientific Integration & Troubleshooting
- Partner with DEL Director to refine campaign design and execution choices.
- Guide scientific interpretation of DEL screening data and hit triage decisions.
- Troubleshoot technical or data-related issues arising from DEL experiments or CRO workflows.
- Collaborate with in vitro assays/CADD/Structure Biology/Medicinal chemistry to support hit triage and chemotype evaluation
Cross-Functional Alignment & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison to different functions across cycles of DEL campaign from pre-selection to hit confirmation.
- Provide clear, concise updates to project teams and leadership.
- Ensure DEL requirements (reagents, assays, timelines) are understood and synchronized across stakeholders.
CRO & External Partner Management
- Act as the operational and scientific lead for DEL CRO relationships and consultants.
- Ensure SOWs reflect correct scientific intent and feasible execution plans.
- Track scientific and operational deliverables from external partners.
- Evaluate and refine scopes of work to optimize efficiency and scientific outcomes.
Strategic Enablement & Team Development
- Identify process improvements, workflow bottlenecks, and opportunities to enhance DEL campaign efficiency and robustness.
- Contribute to broader DEL and Hit ID strategic planning, platform improvement, and capability building.

Qualifications:
Required
- Ph.D. or M.S./B.S with industry experience in DEL, HTS, or phage display, chemical biology, computation chemistry, biophysics, assay biology, or Chemistry
- 5–10+ years of experience in small-molecule Hit Identification, preferably including DEL
- Strong foundational understanding of DEL workflows and interpretation of screening outcomes
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional scientific programs without direct reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; clarity, structure, and influence
- Demonstrated success managing CROs or external scientific partners
- Strong troubleshooting mindset, with ability to quickly identify root causes and propose solutions
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
Preferred
- Experience with DEL screening campaigns, data analysis interpretation, or library design
- Familiarity with computational hit triage or cheminformatics (direct or through partnership)
- Understanding of reagent requirements for Hit ID and early discovery workflows
- Experience mentoring or guiding team members in scientific communication or project alignment
