Position Summary

This position will play a key role in advancing the research pipeline and drug discovery projects. Anchored primarily in vitro biology, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating and interpreting in vitro data and identifying and solving gaps in the assay pipeline. The position will be an essential part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with cross-functional team members and contributing to project success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and coordinate in vitro biology related competencies.
  • Lead biology and drive discovery project to progress and achieve milestones
  • Design and execute biology studies to support target validation and drug candidate discovery. Ensure that experiments are performed to a consistently high standard
  • Manage out-sourced studies with CROs and/or academic collaborators
  • Responsible for data review, analysis and interpretation to enable program go/no-go decisions
  • Work with research teams to manage multiple projects
  • Support team members
  • Interpret and present scientific findings at internal and external research meetings
  • Collaborate and communicate across a diverse research team to progress scientific goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Biology or related field with at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience. Industrial experience is preferred
  • Hands on experience in in vitro pharmacology and assays.
  • Deep understanding of GPCR and receptor pharmacology and/or enzymology.
  • Solid understanding of metabolic disease biology Experience in discovering and validating drug targets and in progressing molecules into lead optimization.
  • Experience in driving projects towards IND is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team.
  • Prior experience working at fast-paced biotech is preferred
