Singular Genomics is inventing at the forefront of genomics, one of the world’s fastest-growing industries. The commercially available G4® Sequencing Platform is a powerful, highly versatile benchtop genomic sequencer designed to produce fast and accurate results. In addition, the company is currently developing the G4X™ Spatial Sequencer, an upgrade to the G4, which will leverage Singular’s proprietary sequencing technology, applying it as an in situ readout for transcriptomics, proteomics and fluorescent H&E in tissue, with spatial context. Singular Genomics’ mission is to empower researchers and clinicians to advance science and medicine.

We foster a culture of creativity and technical excellence, both catalysts for innovation. We celebrate diversity, emphasize collaboration and, as we rapidly mature, we are constantly looking at ways we can do better for our people.

Our Headquarters are located on the Torrey Pines Mesa, in La Jolla, California at the center of the biotech hub. Our Manufacturing facility is in Sorrento Valley. This role reports to our HQ location.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Scientist with a strong track record of innovative problem-solving and delivering results. This role will be on the R&D Spatial Research Applications Team and the ideal candidate will develop and optimize in situ molecular biology assays in an interdisciplinary setting, engaging in both hands-on research and customer-facing activities. This role requires extensive expertise in molecular biology assay development, tissue processing and preferred experience with spatial biology assays/technologies and advanced imaging techniques. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to advancing our intellectual property and market-ready solutions.

  • Experimental Planning, Execution, and Analysis: Design and conduct experiments to develop and optimize methods for mounting tissue samples, in situ molecular assays, and validating robustness.
  • Communication and Presentation: Collaborate seamlessly with teams in chemistry, engineering, materials science, image analysis, and bioinformatics. Effectively convey results across various levels of the organization through clear, cohesive, and compelling presentations.
  • Customer Engagement: work on customer service projects by designing optimal assays and ensuring that data aligns with project objectives. Deliver timely and accurate results to meet client expectations and project timelines.
