About the role:

You will be joining the Silq’s country leadership, as the founding member of the Export Operations & Procurement Management team. You will be addressing a key critical constraint upon which Silq’s aggressive growth plans are built on. As the Deputy Manager, Export Operations, you will directly contribute to our mission of Building the largest sustainable global shipping network with a 40% Gross Margin by leveraging people, data, & technology. You're the SME! Educate our team and our customers on freight forwarding and more importantly - how Silq is bringing new value to an old industry!

In this role, you will

Build:

  • Build & manage our origin handling processes for air and ocean shipments for our customers
  • Track & Trace: Build customization of tasks and milestones on Silq’s proprietary platform to enhance customer experience
  • Expand Silq's in-house ocean consolidations program along with Leadership team

Execute:

  • Shipment booking, scheduling, customs clearance & smooth hand-off of cargo between shippers, vendors & other partners
  • Track & trace shipments in a timely & accurate manner on Silq’s proprietary platform
  • Negotiate best possible rates to drive higher margins across all ocean and air freight booking
  • Manage processes to secure appropriate documentation and ensure exchange of the same

Support:

  • Identify, recommend and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues
  • Create monthly and quarterly departmental reports to measure KPIs and recommend improvements
  • Document Silq Operations SOPs that enable delivering our services efficiently & effectively
  • Keep records and documentation of client interactions for training purposes

In this role, you will need

  • 6+ years in freight forwarding - Operations profile , logistics, operations management experience. NVOCC experience is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Work autonomously in a fast pace, professional team environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills – use logical structuring to understand problems and to create sustainable solutions, don’t rely on others to tell you what to do.
  • Super organized – never let anything slip through the cracks, time management is your forte.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS office and/or Google Suite
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Proficient in English, Tamil, Hindi
  • Travel requirement for business : Moderate
