Associate Director, Strategic Decision Support, US Pain Business Unit

Vertex is seeking a highly analytical and strategic colleague to serve in a critical role joining our US Pain Business Unit to support our journey to bring forth new options for the treatment of pain. The Associate Director, US Pain Strategic Decision Support will represent the business across key analytics projects to inform decision making and related execution and drive key special projects in support of the potential launch of suzetrigine, investigational novel pain signal inhibitor of NaV1.8 in acute pain. We are seeking a candidate that has a strong track record in strategy and analytics report directly into the Vice President of the US Pain Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads select strategic projects in areas of emerging and high business impact based on input from the BU leadership team

  • Provides critical support for key leadership presentations including launch updates to the executive team

  • Sits as the interim North America representative on the Global Commercial Team and manages ad hoc needs related to new product planning include input into trial design and go to market planning

  • Serves as the BU liaison for analytics, accountable for ensuring the analytics team’s focus aligns to business priorities working closely with analytics pod lead

  • Role models cross functional collaboration, enterprise thinking and integrity & ethics in all activities

  • Identifies areas of the business to drive a more effective and efficient launch through optimizing cross functional spending and revenue impact

  • Utilize depth of expertise to step in and support BU teams as needed to ensure launch success

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years of progressive, relevant experience with demonstrated experience in analytics and strategic

  • Healthcare consulting or biotech preferred

Flex Designation:

Flex Eligibility Status:

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
