Senior Manager, Global Commercial Strategy, Type-1 Diabetes (T1D)

Location: Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly)

Vertex currently operates at the forefront of rare disease scientific innovation and has successfully developed and commercialized multiple breakthrough medicines for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Sickle Cell Disease. In addition to clinical development programs in CF, Vertex has more than a dozen ongoing research programs focused on the underlying mechanisms of other serious diseases including programs in Type 1 diabetes, hemoglobinopathies, APOL-1 Mediated Kidney Disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, and pain.

General Summary:

A member of the T1D Global Commercial Strategy (GCS) team, the Senior Manager will work closely across functions to support pre-launch and launch initiatives for cell therapies in our T1D product pipeline.

The successful candidate demonstrates strong project management and analytical skills, a problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills and effective collaboration across functional teams:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive or support projects contributing to the commercial strategy of the Vertex T1D program, including global brand development, competitive positioning, go-to-market strategy and the annual long-range plan

  • Coordinate and support Global Commercial Team (GCT) meetings and structure, including execution of annual Insights Week, brand planning and maintenance of shared resources

  • Lead the annual GCT budget cycle, track monthly spend and identify optimization opportunities via strategic reallocation and buy-up

  • Manage the relationship with our Agency of Record including deliverables and budgets

  • Ensure compliance of decks and other materials by working effectively with Medical, Legal and Regulatory

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing Science to design and conduct market research that addresses key questions and ensures customer perspective is woven throughout strategies and tactics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or science and a minimum of 5+ years relevant experience

  • Experience in marketing operations and/or brand strategy at country or global level. Market research, C Commercial Analytics, Market Access, or Consulting experience a plus

  • Strong analytical mindset, proven project management skills, creative problem solving

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage initiatives that require collaboration across multiple functional areas

  • Strong written/oral communication, presentation delivery, and interpersonal skills

  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion to bring medical innovation to patients

Flex Eligibility Status:

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
