Role Summary:
The Senior Support Specialist is the senior authority responsible for the reliability, performance, and control of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role owns the design, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise and cloud networking environments. Support responsibilities exist to protect network stability, enforce standards, and resolve high-impact failures—not to process routine requests.
This position requires deep operational judgment, strong systems thinking, and the ability to manage complexity without allowing entropy to win.
Core Responsibilities:
Network Architecture & Ownership
- Design, operate, and evolve enterprise and cloud network architectures supporting high availability, scalability, and predictable performance.
- Own Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking including routing, switching, segmentation, IP addressing, DNS, and traffic flows.
- Define and enforce network standards, configuration baselines, and change controls.
- Maintain authoritative network documentation that reflects reality, not aspiration.
Network Operations & Stability
- Serve as the final escalation point for network-related outages, degradation, and complex connectivity issues.
- Diagnose and resolve performance problems involving latency, packet loss, routing asymmetry, or bandwidth saturation.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and drive permanent remediation, not temporary relief.
- Lead maintenance windows, upgrades, and network changes with minimal operational risk.
Monitoring, Visibility & Control
- Implement and maintain comprehensive network monitoring and telemetry across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Analyze traffic patterns, capacity trends, and failure modes to anticipate issues before they impact users.
- Establish meaningful alerts that reflect real service risk rather than tool-generated noise.
Security-Aware Network Management
- Implement and manage network controls including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and access policies as part of disciplined network design.
- Ensure network changes do not introduce unnecessary exposure, instability, or unmanaged trust relationships.
- Collaborate with security teams to support incident response and containment at the network layer.
Senior Technical Support & Leadership
- Handle only high-impact escalations where network behavior affects business-critical systems.
- Mentor support and infrastructure staff in structured troubleshooting and network fundamentals.
- Improve operational maturity through clear runbooks, escalation paths, and post-incident learning.
Continuous Improvement & Engineering Discipline
- Identify systemic weaknesses in network design or operations and drive corrective action.
- Evaluate new networking technologies, providers, and architectures with a bias toward simplicity and resilience.
- Reduce operational fragility by eliminating undocumented dependencies and ad-hoc configurations.
Required Experience:
- 7+ years in network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure roles.
- Deep expertise in enterprise networking concepts (routing protocols, switching, VLANs, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, load balancers, and network appliances.
- Proven experience diagnosing complex network failures under pressure.
- Experience operating networks in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Preferred Experience:
- Networking certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or network automation.
- Exposure to compliance or regulated environments where network control and auditability matter.
What Success Looks Like:
- Network incidents are rare, well-understood, and resolved decisively.
- Performance and availability are predictable rather than reactive.
- Network design decisions reduce complexity over time instead of accumulating it.
- The network is treated as a first-class system with clear ownership and accountability.

As a full-time employee with Securonix, you will be eligible for the following employee benefits:
