POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Deal Desk Ownership & Quoting Execution
- Own the end-to-end Deal Desk function, including quote creation, pricing guidance, discount governance, approvals, and deal exception management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for non-standard, high-value, multi-year, partner, and complex deals
- Define and enforce pricing and discounting frameworks, guardrails, and approval hierarchies in partnership with Finance and Sales leadership
- Establish clear SLAs, escalation paths, and decision rights to balance speed with control
- Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure accurate deal terms, revenue recognition readiness, and compliance prior to close
- Drive continuous improvement in deal cycle time, win rates, and margin outcomes
- Own and optimize the quote-to-close process, ensuring consistency, auditability, and scalability
- Act as business owner for quoting tools and process including quote configuration logic, pricing rules and approval workflows, and continuously updated SKU catalog.
- Identify and resolve friction points in quoting workflows that slow sales execution
- Partner with Enablement to ensure reps understand quoting policies, deal desk engagement models, and expectations
- Own sales compensation operations, ensuring accurate alignment between:
- Deal structure and booking treatment
- Quotas, crediting rules, and payout calculations
- Partner with Finance and Sales leadership on comp plan design, documentation, and annual planning
- Manage compensation administration, audits, exception handling, and dispute resolution
- Ensure compensation outcomes reinforce desired selling behaviors and pricing discipline
- Maintain strong controls to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payouts
- Directly manage and develop analysts in both the Deal Desk and Sales Compensation functions
- Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and SLAs for analyst-owned workflows
- Provide coaching, training, and career development to build a high-performing, scalable team
- Delegate deal execution and compensation administration appropriately while retaining oversight of high-risk or high-value items
- Establish coverage models and escalation paths to ensure consistent support for Sales
- Act as a trusted advisor to Sales leadership on deal strategy, tradeoffs, and risk
- Establish governance across pricing, quoting, and compensation to ensure consistency and transparency
- Document policies, processes, and decision frameworks to support scale and onboarding
- Lead change management for new deal structures, pricing models, or compensation changes
- Provide actionable insights to leadership to improve deal quality and revenue predictability
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 4+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or Pricing Operations
- Prior experience managing or mentoring analysts in an operations function
- Demonstrated ownership of quote-to-close processes in a B2B or SaaS environment
- Strong experience with quoting tools and tool management
- Proven ability to manage pricing governance, approvals, and complex deal structures
- Experience owning or heavily influencing sales compensation design and administration
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to operate under time pressure
