Title and Summary

Lead Software Engineer

Lead Elixir Engineer responsibilities include:

• Gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in various languages, like Elixir, Ruby, or Python. Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.
• Work with various teams at RiskRecon to ensure successful project delivery. Inter-team coordination is crucial at RiskRecon and requires proactiveness from engineers to resolve blockers and address concerns.
• Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions
• Write well-designed, testable code
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
• Propose solutions for improving current architecture, data structures, and technical flows.

Skills/Abilities

• 5+ years of experience with Elixir
• Experience in Ruby/Rails is a plus.
• Ability to decipher and troubleshoot legacy code that can have little documentation and/or test coverage; as well as improve and document/test said code.
• Ability to problem-solve in potentially complex technical environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Enjoy working closely with team members.
• Strong motivation to innovate and seek out potential improvements to existing implementations.
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies
• Ability to document requirements and specifications

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Salt Lake City, Utah: $138,000 - $221,000 USD

O'Fallon, Missouri: $138,000 - $221,000 USD
