The opportunity:
As the Senior Desktop Support Specialist, you will assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software. This position is responsible for performing routine tasks at an OS level to ensure system integrity, repairs, reimages, maintenance, and keeps inventory of IT equipment. Additionally, this role also supports new technology rollouts, participates in testing and special projects, and delivers onboarding training for new users to ensure smooth integration into company systems.

What you'll be doing

  • Respond, diagnose, resolve, and report user-reported technology problems involving computers (hardware and peripherals, O/S configuration, standard client software applications, access/rights and network connectivity)
  • Follow incident response policies.
  • Set up and install new desktop and laptop equipment ensuring proper installation of monitors, docking stations, phones and cable management.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment.
  • Coordinate hardware warranty support as needed with vendors and manufacturers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Deploy laptop images using appropriate deployment technologies
  • Participate in new application and hardware rollouts, testing and special projects as needed
  • Perform IT onboarding training for new IS systems and users

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 3-5 years acting as a Desktop Support Specialist with relevant similar duties
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Exercises judgment and decision making in the diagnosis and resolution of computer hardware and software problems
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite / Office 365
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, particularly Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • Knowledge of Active Directory user and computer management: reset passwords, unlock accounts, create accounts, change OU’s, join and unjoin from domain.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune and computer desktop management practices.
  • Knowledge of Dell desktop and laptop hardware
  • Understand basic networking principles, including network troubleshooting for connectivity issues, wireless, DNS, use of tools like ping, ipconfig, and nslookup
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Enthusiastic willingness to learn about current IT technologies and their implementation
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

The estimated compensation range for this role is $68,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary offered to the final candidate depends on a number of factors such as relevant work experience, skills, education, and years of experience.
