The opportunity:
As the Director, Procurement, you will lead the REGENXBIO procurement process and carry out processes and directives related to the purchasing and procurement of goods and services including contract negotiation and initiation, vendor relations and management, implementation and use of software systems used in the procurement process and compliance with procedures designed to support the operational activities and financial reporting requirements of the company under Sarbanes-Oxley. You will lead the procurement team, initiate and foster relationships with cross-functional teams, and prioritize activities to achieve company objectives and results.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure that all Sourcing activities are in compliance with company Procurement policies and practices
  • Manage relations with CRO’s, CMO’s and other vendors including negotiations and sourcing strategies
  • Approve the order of necessary goods and services
  • Examine and re-negotiate new or existing vendor contracts
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and other operational departments to carry out the acquisition of goods and materials necessary to carry out business objectives
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance personnel to support budget and purchasing controls necessary for financial reporting objectives
  • Negotiate contracts, SOW’s, and service agreements in coordination with internal stakeholders to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Ensure engagement and alignment with internal teams, gaining stakeholder and leadership support across the organization.
  • Perform other specific duties required in overseeing the procurement process

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field and related business management discipline required; Masters’ degree preferred
  • 8+ years’ relevant experience working in procurement for life sciences and/or pharma companies
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, policies and procedures necessary for operations of a public company
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong data analytics capabilities and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of relevant software systems used in the procurement process, including the implementation thereof
  • Talent in negotiations and relationship management with suppliers
  • Strong business acumen and financial analysis work experience
  • Excellence in driving performance and efficiency improvements
  • Able to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a calm and effective behavior
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as lead others

The estimated compensation range for this role is $185,000 to $260,000 annually. The actual salary offered to the final candidate depends on a number of factors such as relevant work experience, skills, education, and years of experience.
