Research Associate

Responsibilities
• Work under the supervision of lead scientists to ensure timely and high-quality results
• Test human blood and tissue samples using RareCyte technologies
• Perform manual and automated immunofluorescence staining of liquid and tissue biopsy samples
• Perform assay development and optimization experiments for liquid and spatial biology
• Perform immunohistochemistry staining and image analysis of tissue samples
• Perform antibody conjugations to fluorophores
• Work collaboratively on projects with other departments
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) under CLIA regulatory environment
• Write SOPs and document results in a LIMS
Qualifications
• BS, BA or equivalent experience in life sciences
• 2+ years of industry or academic biology laboratory experience
• Must be highly organized with a strong attention to detail and have excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience working with blood samples and autostainers a plus
• Experience with immunofluorescent (IF) and/or immunohistochemical (IHC) staining and analysis of tissue
samples a plus
• Comfortable learning new technologies and troubleshooting
• Experience with image analysis software (QuPath, ImageJ) and programming (R, Python) a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Compensation
Base Pay Range: $34.00/hour - $38.00/hour (this is an hourly position)
The base pay range represents an estimated range for this position in the Seattle area. Determining a base wage will be based on several factors which include skill set, level of education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the comparison to RareCyte internal equity. Some roles may also qualify for additional compensation such as bonus, commission, stock options and travel allowance.
