Your role in our mission
Prosper's Core team sits at the center of our product strategy — and this role sits at the center of the Core team. As Senior PM, Core Experience, you will own the connective tissue between our Personal Loans and Credit Card products, building the intelligent, unified customer experience that turns a portfolio of financial products into a cohesive financial platform.
This isn't a maintenance role. You'll define how we surface the right product to the right customer at the right moment, architect cross-product journeys that reduce friction and deepen engagement, and build AI into the foundation of how we serve customers — a core capability, not a bolt-on. You'll partner with product leadership to build a multi-year vision and roadmap, then break it into phases and drive execution with your dedicated engineering teams.
Your primary KPI is ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) and you'll drive Cross Product and Second Product Adoption. You'll own it end to end.
How you'll make an impact
- Unify the experience across Loans and Cards
Identify seams in the customer journey where switching between products creates confusion or drop-off. Define and ship a single, coherent Prosper experience. - Build intelligent, cross-product journeys
Design the logic for when and how we introduce a customer to a product they don't have yet. Build the decision framework that turns product recommendations into genuine financial guidance. Use data, experimentation (A/B tests), and customer research to iterate quickly and with conviction. - Own the AI strategy for Core
Develop a concrete roadmap for how AI can improve product decisioning, personalization, and customer communication across the core platform. You should have a strong point of view on where AI creates real leverage — and where it doesn't. - Drive ARPU as a first-class metric
Define leading indicators, build the instrumentation, and work cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, Data Science, Credit, and Risk to move it. - Own the strategy, drive the execution
Write crisp strategy docs, influence senior stakeholders, and make opinionated calls on prioritization. Own your backlog. Lead and resolve conflicts across organizational stakeholders. Keep leadership updated on progress and trade-offs without being asked.
Skills that will help you thrive
- Sharp strategic thinker. You hold a 3-year vision and a 2-week sprint in your head at the same time. You connect customer problems to business outcomes without being prompted, and you can articulate the "why" behind every prioritization decision.
- AI-native builder. You've shipped products that use AI/ML in meaningful ways — personalization, intelligent routing, recommendation systems, NLP, or similar. You know how to partner with data scientists and ML engineers as a true peer, and you have a concrete point of view on how to apply AI in financial services.
- Cross-product experience. You've worked on platform or ecosystem-level products — experiences that sit across multiple surfaces, teams, or product lines. You understand the organizational complexity that comes with this and know how to navigate it.
- Deep customer empathy, with financial services fluency. You understand how consumers think about debt, credit, and financial decisions. You've worked in fintech or have done the work to deeply understand it.
- Exceptional communicator. Your PRDs get read. Your stakeholder updates move things forward. You adapt your style across engineering, design, legal, marketing, and the C-suite.
- High ownership, low ego. You don't wait to be asked. You close loops. You make the hard call and own it — including when you're wrong.
- 6+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated success on consumer-facing products
- At least 2 years in fintech, lending, credit, or a closely adjacent domain
- Proven track record shipping AI/ML-powered features at scale
- Experience working across multiple product lines or in a platform/core capacity
- Strong data fluency — comfortable with SQL, experiment design, and pressure-testing analytical conclusions
- Bachelor's degree required; technical degree or MBA a plus, but track record matters more
