Co-op Assignment Overview
Prime Medicine is seeking a diligent, motivated, and enthusiastic co-op for the Spring 2026 cycle who has experience and interest in analytical technologies including HPLC, LC-MS, and capillary electrophoresis (CE) to join the analytical development (AD) team. The successful candidate will be able to participate in the development of separation-based analytical methods for the Prime Editor delivery platform and work cross-functionally to advance the Prime pipeline. There will be opportunities to participate in other cross-functional projects that are crucial to the success of in vivo and ex vivo gene editing therapeutic drug development.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in separation-based method (HPLC, LC-MS, CE) development to assess lipid nanoparticle (LNP) drug products and their components.
- Assist senior-level scientists with buffer preparation, maintenance of instruments, and developing up-to-date analytical methods that help to increase in-process analytics capacity.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental data, protocols, and conclusions in an electronic notebook meeting the cGMP requirement
- Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation within the team.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of separation sciences and technologies.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Skilled in documenting findings and activities in comprehensive reports and ensuring proper inventory of materials and analytical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS, CE, and/or cell culture is preferred.
- Previous co-op experience in the biotechnology industry.
- Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
