About us

Owkin is an AI biotechnology company that uses AI to find the right treatment for every patient. We combine the best of human and artificial intelligence to answer the research questions shared by biopharma and academic researchers. By closing the translational gap between complex biology and new treatments, we bring new diagnostics and drugs to patients sooner.

Owkin has raised over $300 million and became a unicorn through investments from leading biopharma companies (Sanofi and BMS) and venture funds (Fidelity, GV and BPI, among others).

Owkin is seeking the best and brightest to join our fast-growing and dynamic team.

About the role:

This position is based in Paris, France. Ideally you are able to join the team 3rd March 2025. Please submit your CV in English.

An important challenge in AI for cancer research is to leverage spatially resolved transcriptomics data, which allows to sequence RNA transcripts while preserving the architecture of the tissue coming from patient samples. Within the MOSAIC consortium, Owkin is building the world’s largest spatial multiomics data set in oncology, with the aim to enable the discovery of new disease biology, patient subtypes, targets and ultimately new drugs. This initiative raises several methodological challenges, including the development of predictive models for spatially resolved multi-omics and multimodal data.

In particular, you will:

The intern will develop and evaluate new predictive models of survival based on (i) spatial transcriptomics and (ii) multi-omics and multimodal data from the MOSAIC program, in collaboration with other ML scientists and computational biologists. The intern will be able to rely on existing proprietary ML models, and will work on adapting them to the specificities of spatially resolved transcriptomics, with an emphasis on their interpretability. The developed models will be applied to several cancer indications within the MOSAIC program.
