We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on VP of FP&A to join our finance leadership team in San Francisco. Reporting to the COO, this pivotal role will be responsible for owning the financial planning, forecasting, and business performance reporting processes, with a strong emphasis on forward-looking financial insights and strategic decision-making. - Performance Management & Reporting: Provide timely and accurate financial reports, KPIs, and dashboards, offering real-time insights into spending and financial trends. You will monitor company performance and prepare board decks.
- Business Partnership: Act as a financial advisor to department heads and C-level leadership, providing ad hoc analyses and exploring scenarios for resource allocation. This role is key to improving decision-making based on future impact rather than historical performance.
- Strategic Finance Initiatives: Drive deep-dive financial analyses to evaluate immediate financial impacts, such as customer loss, to ensure financial ratios are maintained. You will develop robust models and operating frameworks to drive decision-making.
- Board & Investor Relations: Prepare comprehensive materials for board meetings and investor updates, contributing to the equity story for investors.
- Financial Systems & Tools Management: While the company primarily uses Excel for financial modeling, you will leverage Netsuite as the ERP system. You will be highly proficient in Excel and spreadsheet modeling, and will be expected to conduct a gap assessment against best practices in your first 90 days.
- Team Leadership: Manage the FP&A manager and work closely with the SVP of Finance, You will collaborate extensively with the COO and executive team members and the leadership team. You will drive operational excellence, process improvement, and systems automation.
Skills you'll bring:
- 15 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, or strategic finance roles.
- Proven track record in high-growth SaaS or technology environments.
- Strong modeling, data visualization, and business case development skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise (e.g., NetSuite).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A hands-on, low-ego leader who thrives in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with an international presence, including managing dispersed spreadsheet data and working with a multinational team.
