We are seeking a Senior Director with deep expertise in neuroscience biomarker development to join our Translational Sciences team. The successful candidate will contribute to the identification and implementation of appropriate biomarker strategies across programs, strategic design and execution of novel biomarker candidate identification, assay development, validation and testing with the clear goal to advance our exciting portfolio of programs for both neurodegenerative diseases and neuropsychiatric disorders. The individual will serve an important role integrating biomarker efforts across our research, clinical and data science teams to support our drug discovery and development efforts. To thrive in the role the individual will have strong insight into the multifaceted nature of neuroscience drug discovery, have a track record of delivering and executing biomarker projects, and experience in utilizing a broad range of approaches to interrogate and evaluate target biology.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Neumora translational biomarker development projects to support programs with a focus on neurodegeneration.
  • Utilize cellular, preclinical and translational tools and technologies e.g., individual target biomarkers through multiomics in tissue and biofluid samples to identify biomarkers to track disease progression in neurodegenerative diseases and measure impact of therapeutics.
  • Work across internal and external CRO laboratory research teams to drive biomarker identification, assay development and testing to provide quantitative outcome measures.
  • Work closely with Neumora’s data science team to translate analyses using our proprietary algorithms into endpoints that enable program progression.
  • Lead discussions with multi-disciplinary project teams, senior management, SAB members and external collaborators and consortia to gain alignment on biomarker strategy and integration into early clinical plans.
  • Participate in IND preparation including report writing and review.
  • Present data at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant field, including Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Immunology, or related discipline. 7+ years of experience in biotech/pharma desired, including experience and exposure to the discovery and development of biomarkers in research and/or clinical settings. Well qualified individuals with MS and/or BS with 10+ years of industry experience will also be considered.
  • Strong problem-solver who adapts, thrives and leads in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences.

The salary range posted describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Actual salary may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Base Salary Range: $230,080- $240,000
