Role Summary
The Principal Partner Solutions Engineer is the senior technical leader within the Partnerships organization and serves as the primary technical counterpart to our partner ecosystem.
This role owns the technical engagements that accelerate partner success—from executive presentations, solution demonstrations, and joint customer meetings to proof of concepts, technical validation, onboarding, and complex technical escalations.
As a founding player-coach, you will build the technical foundation of our Partnerships and Channel organization. You'll define the operating model, technical enablement programs, demo environments, partner readiness frameworks, and feedback mechanisms that enable the business to scale. Initially operating as an individual contributor, you will establish the playbooks, processes, and best practices before building and leading a team of Technical Partner Managers.
What You'll Do
Partner Technical Leadership
- Lead technical engagements across the partner ecosystem, including solution demonstrations, executive presentations, architecture workshops, and joint customer meetings.
- Own the technical lifecycle of strategic partnerships, from technical discovery and validation through proof of concepts, pilots, deployment, and production readiness.
- Act as the trusted technical advisor for partners and internal stakeholders, providing solution architecture guidance and resolving complex technical challenges.
- Develop scalable partner enablement programs, including technical onboarding, certification, workshops, reference architectures, and best practices.
Build the Partner Technical Operating Model
- Design and implement the technical operating framework for the Partnerships organization, including playbooks, demo infrastructure, technical readiness programs, documentation, and operating processes.
- Establish scalable operating rhythms, success metrics, and governance to support a growing partner ecosystem.
- Build the foundation for a high-performing Partner Solutions Engineering function, with responsibility for hiring, mentoring, and leading Technical Partner Managers as the organization scales.
Own the Partner Feedback Loop
- Design and operate the partner technical feedback process, including the tools, governance, prioritization, reporting, and communication required to manage partner requests effectively.
- Champion the voice of the partner by translating technical feedback into actionable recommendations for Product and Engineering.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities, improve platform capabilities, and enhance the overall partner experience.
- Communicate roadmap updates and product improvements back to partners, ensuring a transparent and continuous feedback cycle.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Partner Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, Technical Partnerships, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Proven success leading executive-level technical engagements, solution demonstrations, proof of concepts, technical workshops, and production deployments.
- Experience building or scaling a Partner Solutions Engineering or Technical Partnerships organization, including operating models, enablement programs, playbooks, and partner engagement frameworks and managing direct reports.
- Demonstrated experience establishing structured partner feedback programs that drive meaningful Product and Engineering improvements.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading high-performing technical teams.
- Highly organized and process-driven, with a track record of building scalable operating models, governance, KPIs, and execution cadences.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of AI general technology, with the ability to demonstrate, position, and troubleshoot complex technical solutions for both executive and technical audiences.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, identity, security, APIs, integrations, and modern deployment architectures.
- Experience working within the Microsoft ecosystem is strongly preferred.
