The Senior Software Engineer role requires extensive experience in the design, development, and support of next-generation software components. The position will play a key technical role as a full stack developer with experience and skills on backend, middleware and frontend technologies of both web and mobile applications. The individual will develop, test, deploy complex code and accountable for providing technical vision, solutions, and exemplary implementation for the product and drive engineering efficiency in an Agile Scrum software development model. This position is responsible for interacting with stakeholders and the technology team to define and develop system requirements and/or necessary modifications to deliver a high-quality healthcare product.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in design and development of web and mobile applications.
  • 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree of Computer Science or another related field.
  • Professional experience in front-end frameworks and web technologies including HTML, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript or Typescript, Node.js and Angular.
  • Solid knowledge in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate ORM, MQ Technologies and REST API.
  • Strong technical background in developing enterprise applications with MVC design pattern and micro service architectures.
  • Proven experience with building digital restful APIs; GraphQL is a plus
  • Proven experience in container and cloud technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.
  • In-depth understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, SQS and IAM.
  • Experience with mobile application development for both Android and iOS platforms, using Ionic framework; PhoneGap/ Xamarin is a plus.
  • Proficient in Quartz Scheduler and enterprise Job Scheduling.
  • Refactor existing monolithic applications into modular architecture.
  • Design and develop cloud-native technology solutions to replace legacy components.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud solutions, serverless architecture, containerization strategies.
  • Experience with database technologies, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Strong knowledge of ElasticSearch architecture and administration, including cluster sizing, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Deep understanding and expertise with data analysis, modeling, and related concepts; healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of version control system management using various Git workflows.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end build automation and deployment with CI/CD pipeline using Bamboo and AWS services.
  • Knowledge in the field of developing and maintaining firmware for hardware components.
  • Experience with the integration of firmware components with credentialing kiosk devices is a plus.
  • Strong experience in leading in a reciprocal, team-based environment with a constant focus on learning and mentoring.
  • Linux, Shell Scripting, Python are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns, secure coding standards, and architecture principles.

  • Lead technical projects, including writing design documents, coordinating dependencies, and acting as domain owner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and able to work effectively with cross-functional departments with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Proactively engage and use monitoring /alerting tools to resolve problems before they impact our users
  • Apply Agile methodologies and work collaboratively with teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Coordinate with the offshore development team, perform code & design reviews, and participate in daily standup meetings.
  • Gathers and writes technical requirements for stories, features, and epics, and collaborates with the team during Agile rituals such as Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, and Retrospect.
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and report data with strong attention to detail when identifying data relationships, trends, and anomalies.
  • Builds the automated test framework, drives best practices, and troubleshoots issues.
  • Perform problem analysis, troubleshoot issues, and identify underlying causes as required.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams and stakeholders to analyze and solve problems.
  • Displays flexibility in adapting to changing conditions and helps lead others through change.
  • Ensures adherence to IT Control Policies throughout design, development, and testing.
  • Strong team player, makes a valuable contribution to team objectives, displays trust and mutual understanding, accepts constructive feedback, and handles confrontation constructively.
  • Generates supporting unit test as well as system test specifications and implementations.
  • Staying ahead of the curve by aligning architecture, user experience, and security.
  • Collaborating with architecture, security, and UXD to build architecturally compliant apps.
  • Providing engineering leadership to advance Health Care benefits and management outcomes and facilitate a cloud-first approach.

Estimated Salary Range for this position: $105,000 - $141,000

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
