Job Description

We’re looking for a self-motivated and experienced Benefits Manager with a strong global background to help us scale our employee benefits programs across multiple regions, ensuring we offer competitive, innovative, and employee-centric benefits that align with our company’s values and strategic objectives.

The Global Benefits Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration, management, and strategic oversight of employee benefits programs globally. This role involves both hands-on administration and strategic planning to ensure benefits are compliant, competitive, and well-communicated to employees in all regions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing our health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave of absence administration, and other benefits programs that support flexibility, health, and wellness for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall and daily administration of global benefits programs including healthcare, retirement, life insurance, disability, wellness programs, time-off policies, and other employee benefits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollments, terminations, and changes in benefit elections for employees across all global regions.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, resolving issues, and providing clear guidance on program details and eligibility.
  • Manage and maintain benefits records in HRIS system, ensuring up-to-date and accurate data.
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate benefits deductions and contributions.
  • Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA and other region-specific leave policies.
  • Manage the annual contract renewal process for health and welfare plans including establishing employee premiums (in conjunction with Total Rewards and Finance Leadership) and managing open enrollment processes.
  • Understand plan performance and trends, and provide actionable recommendations and creative solutions for all benefits programs.
  • Develop benefits communications strategy and lead collaboration efforts with Human Resources, Legal, and Corporate Communications; create and deliver compelling employee communications enabling employees to understand the value of the organization’s benefits program.
  • Serve as primary contact for benefits brokers, providers, and 3rd party administrators - ensuring accountability, plan effectiveness, and expectations are achieved.
  • Ensure benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations for each country in which we operate, including tax, labor, and healthcare laws.
  • Provide support in the design and implementation of a Wellness Program that encourages and improves the overall well-being of the organization’s workforce.
  • Manage the monthly bill reconciliation process for accurate and timely bill payments

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years benefits design and administration experience, with at least 3 of those being global employee benefits experience, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth tech company or startup environment
  • Strong knowledge of global benefits programs, including healthcare, retirement, and wellness initiatives, with expertise in the US, India, and EMEA
  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) certification strongly preferred
  • Experience in the day-to-day administration of benefits programs, including processing enrollments, managing benefits data, and handling employee inquiries
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts with benefits providers
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate cross-cultural environments with a solid understanding of global compliance and legislation
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and taxation impacting benefits programs, including but not limited to the ADA, Rehabilitation Act, Health Care Reform, FMLA, HIPAA, and other pertinent regulations
  • Team player with good negotiating and consulting skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude used to prepare/analyze benefits costs
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve employee benefits issues
  • Ability to exhibit a wide degree of creativity and innovation
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and multitask
  • Detail oriented with exceptional attention to accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related discipline (preferred)

Salary range and description

Base: Min $129,500 - Max $184,500 USD per year

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities. In addition to the base salary and annual bonus target and an equity component is included in the compensation package.
