About Fazeshift
Fazeshift deploys AI agents that automate complex financial workflows across the Office of the CFO. Our platform is proven at scale in accounts receivable, including billing and invoicing, collections, cash application, and A/R inbox management, and is expanding into broader financial workflows.
Fazeshift works across existing ERP, CRM, banking, email, and operational systems without requiring companies to replace their core infrastructure. By automating manual financial processes, Fazeshift helps companies accelerate cash flow, increase operating leverage, and scale without proportionally increasing finance headcount.
The Role
Private equity is a core growth channel for Fazeshift. A single sponsor relationship can create opportunities across an entire portfolio, but scaling that motion requires more than traditional outbound. It requires understanding a sponsor’s investment strategy, identifying the portfolio companies where Fazeshift can create measurable value, finding the right operating and finance leaders, and developing a compelling reason to engage.
The Private Equity Partnerships Associate will work directly with the Head of Private Equity Partnerships & Investor Relations to scale this channel. A core mandate of the role is generating new pipeline: opening new sponsor relationships, identifying opportunities within existing PE portfolios, and turning research, outreach, events, and existing relationships into qualified portfolio company conversations.
This is not a traditional BDR role. The Associate will be expected to understand the companies they are targeting, develop a thesis for why Fazeshift is relevant, and communicate credibly with private equity investors, operating partners, CFOs, and other senior executives.
The role combines business development, relationship management, financial analysis, and execution. The Associate will have meaningful ownership from day one and, as they ramp, will independently lead sponsor and portfolio company conversations and manage a defined set of PE relationships.
This opportunity is particularly well suited for someone coming from investment banking, private equity, or another transaction-oriented role who wants to move beyond traditional deal execution while staying close to the private equity ecosystem. You will apply the analytical skills you have built in finance in a more commercial and relationship-driven environment, developing direct relationships with investors, operating partners, CFOs, and executives while helping build and scale a strategic growth channel.
What You Will Do
- Generate PE-sourced pipeline. Build top-of-funnel across the PE channel through targeted sponsor outreach, portfolio activation, warm introductions, events, conferences, and thoughtful cold outreach. You will be accountable for consistently creating qualified sponsor and portfolio company conversations.
- Map and prioritize sponsor portfolios. Analyze PE firms and their portfolio companies to identify where Fazeshift is most likely to create measurable financial and operational impact. Develop a clear thesis for which companies to prioritize, why they are relevant, and who owns the problem.
- Open new sponsor relationships. Identify and engage the operating partners, portfolio operations leaders, finance executives, and other stakeholders responsible for financial transformation and value creation.
- Activate existing relationships. Work across Fazeshift’s existing sponsor network to identify the next portfolio companies to engage, support portfolio reviews, and turn successful deployments into broader portfolio opportunities.
- Own thoughtful outbound. Develop highly targeted email, LinkedIn, and warm-path outreach informed by real research. This is not high-volume sequencing: you should be able to explain why you are contacting a specific sponsor or portfolio company and why Fazeshift should matter to them.
- Prepare and increasingly lead meetings. Build executive-level briefs ahead of sponsor and portfolio company meetings, participate actively in conversations, and increasingly own discovery, presentations, follow-up, and next steps as you develop.
- Build the value creation case. Translate customer outcomes and financial data into sponsor-specific case studies, analyses, presentations, and narratives around working capital, operating leverage, finance productivity, and portfolio-level impact.
- Turn events into pipeline. Support and attend PE conferences, portfolio events, executive dinners, webinars, and other partnership programs, owning the research, targeting, outreach, preparation, and follow-through required to convert them into relationships and opportunities.
- Build a repeatable PE engine. Develop better ways to research sponsors, prioritize portfolios, identify triggers, and use AI to make the channel more scalable. If a research or targeting process can be systematized, you should want to build it.
- Own channel execution and data. Maintain accurate sponsor and portfolio records, pipeline attribution, relationship history, portfolio penetration, and next actions in HubSpot. Use the data to identify which sponsor profiles, portfolio characteristics, and activities are generating opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally. Coordinate closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to move opportunities from initial sponsor engagement through portfolio introduction, evaluation, and deployment.
You Might Be a Fit If You
- Have 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, consulting, transaction services, investing, or another analytical and client-facing environment.
- Understand how private equity firms evaluate businesses and drive value across their portfolios. You should be comfortable discussing working capital, cash flow, operating leverage, and value creation with an investor or CFO.
- Can look at a PE firm’s portfolio and quickly develop a thoughtful view on which companies are most relevant for Fazeshift, why they are relevant, and who is likely to care.
- Are commercially minded. You enjoy finding an angle, opening a relationship, and turning research into action rather than stopping at the analysis.
- Are comfortable with outbound and rejection. Building new relationships is a meaningful part of this role, and you should be energized by creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive.
- Write exceptionally well. Your outreach should be short, specific, and demonstrate that you understand the person and company you are contacting.
- Have the presence and judgment to interact directly with operating partners, investors, CFOs, and other senior executives.
- Are highly organized and can manage a large number of sponsors, portfolio companies, conversations, and next steps without losing attention to detail.
- Use AI naturally to accelerate research, synthesize information, and build more scalable workflows.
- Are proactive, resourceful, highly accountable, and excited to take ownership in a fast-growing environment.
Why This Role
This role offers an unusual opportunity to build commercial and relationship-management experience while remaining deeply embedded in the private equity ecosystem.
You will develop relationships across leading PE firms, learn how sponsors approach technology and operational value creation across their portfolios, and gain direct exposure to CFOs, operating partners, and executives. As the PE Partnerships function scales, strong performers will take increasing ownership of sponsor relationships, independently lead portfolio conversations, and help shape how Fazeshift builds and scales the channel.
