About the Role:
We are seeking a service-oriented Licensing Specialist with a high attention to detail and strong collaborative communication skills. This role involves guiding professionals through the licensure process, handling documentation, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes. The Licensing Specialist works closely with regulatory boards, employers, and professionals to streamline the licensure application and renewal processes, ensuring that all SLPs meet the necessary qualifications to practice.

What you would be doing at Expressable (essential functions)

  • LICENSING SUPPORT
  • Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in completing initial licensing applications, renewals, and verifications.
  • Guide applicants through the licensure process, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Provide detailed information on state-specific licensing requirements and reciprocity agreements.
  • REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
  • Stay updated on state and national regulations, ensuring compliance with licensure standards and professional practice requirements.
  • Communicate changes in licensure laws, policies, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain thorough records of SLP licenses, including expiration dates and continuing education compliance.
  • COLLABORATION
  • Serve as the liaison between SLPs, regulatory boards, and other professional organizations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (HR, compliance, etc.) to facilitate timely licensing for new hires or transfers.
  • PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
  • Continuously assess and improve licensing processes to increase efficiency and reduce delays.
  • Implement and manage systems for tracking licensing progress and compliance.
  • SLP SERVICE
  • Respond to inquiries from SLPs and employers regarding licensing statuses and requirements.
  • Provide guidance on resolving issues related to licensure delays or denials.

What you bring to Expressable

  • At least 2 years of experience in licensing, credentialing, or a related regulatory environment, preferably in healthcare or educational setting.
  • Ability to use and maintain databases and navigate state board websites. Competency in office productivity and collaboration tools such as MSOffice or Google Suite and Slack.
  • Experience with SLP licensing is preferred.
  • Telehealth experience is desirable.
  • Ability to collaborate with a fully remote team.
