Senior Manager Clinical Operations
Devoted Health
Job Description
A bit about this role:
In addition to starting a new health plan, Devoted Health has launched Devoted Medical, an innovative, world-class, virtual care delivery program in 29 states. The purpose of Devoted Medical is to provide all the care that our patients need that is not currently available between a member’s PCP and the hospital. This includes care for frail, older adults who can’t always make it in to see their doctor, patients recently discharged from the hospital, and patients who have gaps in their care or have not seen a PCP recently.
We are on a mission to replicate best-in-class specialty care through our virtual care platform. Our multidisciplinary team combines remote monitoring, automated medication management, and high-touch disease education to deliver seamless specialty care in the comfort of our members’ homes.
We seek to better serve our members with chronic conditions who often lack access to high-quality specialty care because of a scarcity of specialists in their community or personal barriers to traveling to seek care. One example: Despite a mountain of evidence, less than 1 in 10 people with congestive heart failure are prescribed guideline-based medications proven to save lives and prevent hospitalization.
The Senior Manager, Clinical Operations will provide operational leadership for three programs that fall under Devoted Medical’s Specialty Care umbrella: Virtual Cardiology, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
A bit about each of the programs this role would support:
Virtual Cardiology: This program is run by a team of qualified Devoted Medical providers and aims to provide advanced primary care cardiology services in a virtual telehealth setting, with easy access to medical care and dedication to high-value clinical decisions based on the American College of Cardiology Appropriate Use Criteria.
Congestive Heart Failure: The CHF Program serves members who have a diagnosis of congestive heart failure AND have a specific type of heart failure known as systolic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (less than 40%) OR has any subtype of heart failure that have experienced a CHF-related hospitalization in the previous 12 months. Enrolled members receive one-on-one education and coaching from a registered nurse. In addition, they are offered visits with a pharmacist and/or nurse practitioner to review and optimize their heart failure medications.
Chronic Kidney Disease: The CKD Program helps Devoted members with CKD to learn more about their disease, become better self-managers, and improve clinical outcomes over time. We launched this new program in mid-2025 as a way to allow Devoted Medical to bring kidney care in-house vs. sending referrals to a kidney health vendor.
You’ll be the operational architect behind AI-enabled, technology-forward, and clinically complex programs that change how our members understand and manage their conditions. Working at the intersection of clinical excellence and technology, you’ll build systems and processes to deliver healthcare innovation at scale.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations (Specialty Care) and partnering closely with our Medical Directors, you'll shape critical decisions that influence both member outcomes and key performance indicators. As we grow from treating hundreds of thousands of members to millions of members, the operational excellence and strategic frameworks you develop will scale to enable sustainable, high-quality care delivery.
Responsibilities and impact will include:
Performance. Drive operational results to achieve population quality outcomes (5-Star performance on related Medicare clinical Star measures) and to reduce the rate of avoidable acute hospitalizations for Devoted members. Owns a significant chunk of (and creation of) the clinical operational agenda for Specialty Care’s Heart and Kidney Center, including tracking performance and implementing solutions for improvement, identifying data integration needs, problem solving and solutioning of virtual care team efficiency, among others.
Cross-functional execution. Manage performance against operating KPIs and clinical and financial outcomes for Specialty Care programs that reduce total cost of care. Partner with clinical teams to design and implement clinical interventions, translating clinical goals into actionable operational strategies. Guide initiatives from pilot phase through full-scale implementation across our member population.
Analysis. Leverage data analysis tools to determine root cause barriers to major problems that drive clinical outcomes, ranging from operational considerations (i.e., outreach connection rates, encounter throughput, care team productivity) to clinical outcomes (i.e., total cost of care and clinical outcome measures)
Process Improvement. Own portfolio of high-value cross-disciplinary initiatives to advance programmatic efficiency/effectiveness, including close collaboration with product, engineering, data science, and member experience teams.
Required skills and experience:
4+ years of experience leading clinical operations with accountability for operational metrics as well as health outcome metrics
Demonstrated ability to drive new initiatives and achieve direct business outcomes
Strong analytical skills - you are confident making sense of operations through data, you can establish quantitative goals, and you can articulate a case from first principles
Track record of success delivering results for complex, operational problems
Past experience leading a team, project, or implementation towards challenging goals
Proficiency with tools (examples: Excel, SQL, Tableau) and intrigued by learning new tools, such as configuration scripts for a web application
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to distill complex operational and clinical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
You’re a great team member with a can-do attitude
A learning mindset; comfortable operating in a fast moving environment
Proven leadership, agility, and collaboration skills
Experience connecting the dots of U.S. healthcare, such as at a clinic/health program, and/or graduate-level degree (MBA, MPA, MPH)
Desired skills and experience:
Healthcare ecosystem fluency through hands-on experience at clinics, health programs, payers, or relevant graduate-level education. We value candidates who understand how clinical care, economics, and member experience intersect in real-world healthcare delivery.
AI and automation proficiency with curiosity about emerging technologies. Whether you're prompting large language models to streamline workflows, exploring process automation tools, or simply excited about leveraging AI to enhance operational efficiency, we want forward-thinking team members who see technology as a force multiplier.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 / year
