The Role:

At Curie.Bio, our Associates and Senior Associates play a critical role in shaping investment decisions by closely collaborating with founders to translate scientific concepts into transformative therapeutic drug embodiments, positioning our founders and their companies to successfully raise a Series A, and beyond. As a member of the Co-Pilot Team, you will gain first-hand experience across the full spectrum of early-stage biotech venture building: from what makes a therapeutic concept attractive, to designing robust experimental plans that answer key scientific questions, to driving daily execution of these plans, to building the team and ultimately packaging that data to successfully raise the next round of financing. And all of this happens at an unprecedented scale.

A key aspect of the role will be to support the efficient assessment of a broad range of therapeutic company concepts, identifying and advancing the most promising therapeutic opportunities. To do this, you will directly engage with Founders, external advisors, and the internal Curie.bio chessboard of experts. You will also have the opportunity to work across the different areas of Curie.Bio and stages of company-building, gaining exposure and hands-on experience in all aspects of company creation while supporting Founders throughout their Curie.Bio journey. This happens across the following dimensions:

• Sourcing: Discover new pools of founder talent and catalyze new company formation through educating the ecosystem on why Curie.Bio is the best place to start a therapeutics company.
• Bleeding Edge: Identify the next great wave of innovation in drug discovery that could lead to exciting new therapeutics and ultimately, better medicines for patients.
• Founder Experience: Be one of the first points of contact with Founders as you ensure that we have the required source material to perform diligence and that Founders have a high-quality experience throughout their journey with Curie.Bio.
• Diligence: Evaluate companies across a wide breadth of therapeutic areas and drug embodiment approaches, helping select the most promising companies to move forward with.
• Breakout Fund: Support the Breakout Fund through the continued investment in Curie’s seed portfolio companies as they graduate to Series A, as well as sourcing and leading investments in exceptional external companies at the Series A stage (or later).

Requirements and Qualifications:

• PhD or PhD/MD in biology, biochemistry, or a related life sciences field
• Exceptional ability and desire to build and cultivate relationships
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate a deep level of scientific understanding
• Experience in business strategy, management consulting, large pharma, or in a biotech startup environment is a plus
• Experience in having to quickly develop a knowledge base in new areas of science
• Demonstrated excellence in scientific research or innovation
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment (no job is too big or too small)
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results
• Highly immersed in the world of therapeutics – news, literature, companies, etc.
• A love for big-picture thinking – traversing both science and business with agility

The Company:

Curie.Bio was founded to discover and develop important new medicines. We do that by investing directly into existing companies, creating focused spinouts, and helping founders build companies from scratch.

We manage two funds: the Seed Fund and the Breakout Fund. The Seed Fund focuses on advancing therapies through preclinical milestones, such as achieving in vivo proof-of-concept or selecting a development candidate. The Breakout Fund focuses on advancing medicines through clinical trials to generate impactful human activity data.
