Staff Solutions Engineer
Castle
United States
Posted on Aug 13, 2025
Overview
Castle is a profitable, product-led Series A startup building a future where everyone can interact online with trust, safety, and peace of mind. We protect users from account takeovers and abuse in real time, powering platforms like Canva, Atlassian, and Rockstar Games. We're backed by Y Combinator, Index Ventures, and prominent angels from Datadog, Stripe, and New Relic.
We're 20 people today, serving some of the world's largest brands, and we're looking for a Director of Business Operations to build the backbone of our internal systems. Reporting directly to the CEO & Co-founder, you'll take over high-leverage work from the leadership team from day one, help us scale by implementing structure and automation, and eventually build out a lean ops team. You'll be crucial in our mission to create an AI-native company where human effort is minimized through intelligent automation.
This role is based on-site 3-4 days a week in our NYC office.
We're hiring a seasoned Solutions Engineer to handle all customer-facing activities, with an emphasis on pre-sales.
You'll work directly with me (Lisa, Head of Revenue) and Nadia (our first Solutions Engineer) to handle everything technical in the customer journey - from initial demos to getting them up and running and making sure they're getting real value.
You'll collaborate with tech teams at companies like Canva and Rockstar Games, create practical integration plans, earn trust by being straightforward, and tackle actual production issues. Sometimes the fastest solution is writing code yourself, and you'll do that when needed.
A lot of your best work will be building things that make all our lives easier - simple tools, dashboards, and scripts that dramatically improve how we support customers. You don't need to be a full-time developer, but you should have that background. You get the technical tradeoffs, work efficiently, and can talk tech with customers without unnecessary jargon.
This job is for someone who thrives on genuine challenges, tangible results, and the freedom to solve problems your way.
What You'll Do
NYC preferred to fully experience Castle's culture with the leadership team. Remote is acceptable if you're in an aligned time zone and willing to visit at least once per quarter.
Compensation
Competitive at 75% of US market rates (base + equity).
