About the Role

You are an analytical and entrepreneurial finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You enjoy getting deep into the numbers but also understand how to distill insights for strategic impact. You’ve operated at the intersection of modeling, decision-making, and leadership—and you're excited to level up the role of Finance in a scaling SaaS business.

Mission

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Director of FP&A to help drive Canary’s next phase of growth. This individual will be responsible for owning company-wide planning and building financial reporting infrastructure. The Director will act as a strategic partner to Leadership delivering insights that shape decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Drive annual and quarterly planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across all departments
  • Develop framework for conducting a comprehensive understanding of financial performance against budgets and ongoing forecasts
  • Maintain dynamic operating models, forecasts and dashboards to support strategic decision-making and scenario planning
  • Execute monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders
  • Strengthen financial reporting infrastructure and collaborate cross-functionally to improve tools, systems, and data integrity

Qualifications

  • Strategic FP&A leader with experience owning company-wide planning and reporting cadences
  • 8-10 years of work experience across a high-growth SaaS environment
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in leading small, agile teams while balancing IC responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics, and reporting
  • Proficiency in financial systems / language
  • Track record of involvement in capital raises, direct investments, or M&A
  • Investment Banking or Private Equity experience is a plus
  • International experience is a plus

195000 - 240000 USD a year

The expected total cash compensation range for this role is $195,000 - $240,000. This figure includes a competitive base salary and a performance-based bonus that is paid quarterly. This role may also include the opportunity to earn equity. Compensation is subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. Actual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s skill level, experience, and specific work location.
