We seek a highly talented and motivated Research Associate to join Adcentrx Therapeutics in San Diego. The candidate will be an instrumental part of the Protein Sciences group to support the company’s groundbreaking efforts in developing novel targeted therapeutics for cancer.

The Research Associate will work closely with members of the Protein Sciences group, as well as the Process Development and Discovery Research groups. The candidate will be part of a cross–functional project team working on antibody discovery and early development in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment. This position will directly report to the Principal Scientist of the Protein Sciences group.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will support recombinant protein expression and purification from mammalian cells. He/She will also develop and conduct biochemical and biophysical assays to characterize antibodies for lead selection under supervision. In this role He/She will work as part of a multi–disciplinary team including organic chemists, analytical chemists, process development scientists, cell biologists and translational scientists. The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting hands–on experiments including but not limited to molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein purification and characterization.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, or other relevant fields.
• At least 2 years postgraduate, hands–on experience in mammalian cell culture and protein biochemistry such as SDS–PAGE, ELISA and affinity chromatography are required.
• Experience with SPR or Biolayer Interferometry such as Biacore or Octet is a plus.
• Detail–oriented, strong work ethic, self–motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
