Job Summary

The Director of Digital Platform Strategy and Analytics is accountable to Hemoglobinopathies (Heme) Business unit leadership for the customer experience provided by technology and information services supporting CASGEVY for all US customers as well as providing appropriate analytic reporting to Heme BU members.

This position will work closely with business stakeholders, commercial field teams, data, technology, and engineering team (DTE), compliance and legal to continue to iterate and improve on our digital platforms as well as determine key business metrics and reporting formats. This individual will report directly to the Executive Director of the Patient Experience and Customer Operations [PECO] team and will be a member of the PECO leadership team.

This position is based on site at our Boston, MA headquarters with hybrid flexibility 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Overall, this position pairs both business unit digital and analytical strategy as the two are connected via the data that resides in the platforms that will be used to drive our analytics.

Digital

Understand and execute based on the strategic and tactical objectives of business owners; translation of those needs to our DTE (Information Technology) colleagues to achieve the most logical and efficient digital solution.

  • Lead team responsible for developing product roadmap with HEME stakeholders, advocate for business need for budget development capacity; partner with Data, Technology and Engineering (DTE) on releases, communication where plans may deviate, and sets long term goals for platform.

  • Lead Heme product owners to proactively identify and resolve cross-team, cross-platform dependencies, and align on a North America Commercial business perspective to communicate to DTE for support.

  • Scans for risk and provides regular updates to the team, ensures rapid escalation and remediation options to business unit leadership.

  • Defines product goals, metrics, scope to inform data-driven decision making.

  • Core member of global Cell and Gene Therapy Technology Operations team and steering committee, responsible for advocating NA priorities, enhancements and updates needed across platforms in partnership with DTE teams.

  • Responsible for Authorized Treatment Centers systems onboarding across CGT platforms, partnering with cross-functional groups to ensure data accuracy and timely updates following GXP processes.

  • Partner with Canada and DTE to implement and maintain suite of CGT platforms for potential CASGEVY launch, leveraging US build and lessons learned to streamline.

  • Stay abreast on CGT Operations led business process changes, understanding impact to North America systems, tools and processes downstream impact on platforms.

Analytics

  • Understand goals and objectives of functional areas within the Heme business and their analytical needs to achieve those goals: The primary focus will be patient level data analysis but will address other analytical needs within the business unit as well, such as website analytics.

  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to compliantly procure required data for necessary analysis as well as coordination with other analytical efforts within the North American business overall.

  • Ensure proper data governance to adhere to both compliance and data privacy principles.

This role overall will directly manage and develop a 5-person team comprised of product owners and one data analyst.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience standing up analytical efforts regarding key business metrics

  • An understanding of how data may need to be extracted and/or transformed to fulfill require analytic tasks

  • Demonstrated record of high-level thought leadership, problem solving and program management success

  • Effective communicator and leader who can inspire and motivate teams

  • Demonstrates executive presence and assertiveness to influence others with the ability to speak on behalf of the end users and customers.

  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies

  • Ability and desire to understand the product needs of the future and influence all stakeholders to prioritize them. Simplification of those needs so they can be articulated to senior leadership

  • Keen ability to promote an enterprise mindset and strong business and financial acumen

  • Managing/coaching small multidisciplinary teams

  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment, with strong time-management skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or MBA (Master of Business Administration) preferred

  • 8-10 years of relevant business experience in planning and product management of customer facing technology solutions and/or experience with technology led business strategy transformation.

  • Commercial Operations experience with Pharma/ biotechnology industry, preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience in cell and genetic therapies preferred.

  • Understanding of Veeva, Salesforce, Healthcloud, and Snowflake platforms

  • Experience with managing the creation and grooming of epics and themes for product roadmaps.

  • Working knowledge of key workflow tools, including JIRA and Confluence

  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements of life sciences industry
