Job Description
The HR Generalist Manager is responsible for aligning business objectives to effective human resources tactics in designated business units/client groups and/or products. This role serves as a consultant to all employees on human resource-related issues. This role acts as an employee champion, change agent, and assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. HR Generalist Manager communicates needs proactively within the HR department/leadership and seeks to develop integrated solutions.
This role partners closely with HRBP function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This role maintains an effective level of business acumen and expert level of digital literacy to support data-based decision making and employee listening to drive operational resiliency and foster exceptional people culture.
This role is hybrid office based in Paris, France.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manages HR inquiry and transactional escalation to ensure alignment across the enterprise on the delivery of HR Strategy
Analyzes data and analytics (dashboards) in partnership with the HR group to identify key issues or concerns that could impact the business unit. Helps to proactively develop strategies to address trends, and ensure attraction, retention and development of talent and capabilities across the client group
Manages dedicated HR product portfolio including Leave of Absence, Global Mobility, Change Management and Employee Relations
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required
Supports the development of contracts for new hires, promotions and transfers
Provides guidance and input on client group/business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning in partnership with HRBP
Manages and resolves a wide range of employee relations issues in partnership with Employee Relations Director, HRPB and Legal Department. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations as appropriate
Assists in the preparation of comprehensive investigation reports which include recommendations for complaint resolution
Manages and maintains ER procedures and practices to ensure compliance, enhance the employee experience
Ensures ER cases are handled fairly and consistently in a timely fashion, and in line with company values and applicable laws
Creates and implements change management strategies and communications in support of organizational design and changes
Analyzes ER trends to develop solutions and strategies and make recommendations
Leverages data, dashboards and analytics to show progress and trends across Vertex goals
Leads the operational integration and advises on executing business change including acquisitions, restructurings and reorganizations
Manages retention intervention, pulse survey insights, exit interviews and analyzes trends with recommended approaches to resolve areas of concern
Required Education Level
Bachelor's degree required
Required Experience
Strong experience in similar HR role, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge/Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience in managing multiple projects/tasks in a fast paced environment
Fluent in English, proficient and conversant in French and other European languages
Demonstrated experience in process improvement
Demonstrated experience with problem-solving and prioritization in an innovative environment
Digital Literacy experience required including Microsoft, Workday, Analytic dashboarding
Human resources experience, including experience implementing HR strategies, expertise in the areas of employee experience, talent mobility, organizational effectiveness, management development and change management
