General/Position Summary
The Associate Director, ATC Communications will be part of the Patient Experience & Customer Operations team within the US, Heme Business Unit which is commercializing exa-cel, a gene therapy treating sickle cell disease (SCD) and transfusion dependent thalassemia (TDT). You will be accountable for understanding the exa-cel treatment journey, the order management process, and associated needs of key HCP customers (transplant nurses, BMT coordinators, apheresis staff, & cell therapy lab). As part of this role, you may conduct formal & informal research, help set the strategy for transplant center & nurse engagement throughout the order management process, and oversee development of core HCP order management materials, apheresis, infusion materials.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for successful launch preparation/execution and ongoing enhancements for exa-cel, including the development of treatment support strategy, communications plans, and foundational tactics.
Clearly understand and compliantly support the needs of healthcare providers and patients undergoing treatment with exa-cel
Develop and execute research and insight mining plans to close knowledge gaps and validate communication touchpoints, content & strategy, which could include quant/qual research, ad boards, in-depth interviews, customer archetyping or segmentation, etc.
Partner closely with our Heme Customer Operations team and Apheresis Infusion Specialists to understand the order management process and evolve, refine, and adapt our communications strategy, tactics, and channel mix.
Partner with Global Commercial Strategy, Heme Customer Operations, and Apheresis Infusion Specialists to support the development of internal and external trainings/videos related to the order management process & apheresis/infusion process.
Partner with Care Managers to develop, refine, and optimize conversation guides, FAQs, and support materials.
Build relationships & partner with HCPs at Transplant Centers to gather feedback on communications plans & tactics.
Work with agency partner to develop corresponding tactics and bring through legal/medical/regulatory review (ie. Promotional Review Committees)
Define metrics along with tactical development; implement measurement plans & optimize as needed
Required Education Level
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience
8+ years of combined educational/work experience in any combination of the following:
Commercial or clinical trial cell or gene therapy experience
Familiarity/experience working within a transplant care teams
Experience launching a product for a rare disease/underserved patient population
Experience with the Sickle Cell Disease or Thalassemia community
Required Knowledge/Skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and manage initiatives across multiple teams internally & externally
Strong analytical skills, ability to derive insights from customer engagements and apply them to tactical creation
Ability to manage up and across an organization; can adeptly identify when/what information to share with leadership and/or cross-functional stakeholders at critical timepoints
Entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys working in a fast-paced, results-driven, environment within a growing business unit
Experience managing agency partners and managing formal reviews with legal, medical and regulatory partners
Strong written communication skills, presentation delivery, and interpersonal skills
