Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Director, Regional Supply Chain (ANZ) acts as the Supply Chain business partner for the Australia and New Zealand commercial team. Responsible for planning supply chain activities with the business, a key aspect of this role is supporting the Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP) and market growth plans.

This is a Hybrid position based in Sydney, Australia, and will report directly to the Director, NEA Regional Supply Chain, based in London, UK.

This role has 1 direct report.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner & engage with ANZ market teams to enable the commercial strategy:

• Partner with country management to understand the commercial strategy and work across supply chain sub-teams (launch, supply planning, logistics) to enable the strategy.

• Proactively engage with and influence stakeholders to ensure supply chain capabilities are considered in strategy development.

• Manage stakeholders to ensure alignment relating to product supply.

Translate regional requirements into supply plans, considering the supply chain network capability:

• Understand and monitor regulatory, reimbursement, and customer requirements.

• Translate demand forecasts and requirements to the CMSC organization in a concise format that can drive optimal decision making and implementation.

• Understand various demand scenarios, assess impact on the supply chain, and identify related costs or risks.

• Work cross functionally to develop supply strategy for the region and mobilize teams across the organization matrix.

Review demand forecasts & monitor trends:

• Lead the monthly country and/or regional Sales & Operations Planning process for ANZ.

• Stay abreast of activity in the market and capture market intelligence.

• Drive consensus planning for the region.

• Review/interrogate commercial forecasts and monitor demand trends.

• Collaborate with the regional teams to continuously drive forecast improvements and provide inputs on trend analyses.

• Assist in the development and validation of long-range planning and forecasting models for budget and production needs of the business.

Provide operational support to the Senior Manager, Regional Supply Chain (ANZ) and central supply chain teams:

• Management of the Senior Manager, Regional Supply Chain (ANZ), including coaching and career development.

• Support the Senior Manager, Regional Supply Chain ANZ and the International Logistics team with the management of local 3rd Party Logistics Providers (3PLs) and day to day logistical operations as required.

• Coordinate various aspects of launches for the region, working with the Product Launch & Lifecycle team to ensure product readiness, and the Senior Manager, Regional Supply Chain ANZ to ensure 3PL readiness and stock requirements.

• Lead “voice of the customer” initiatives and identify areas for improvement in the region.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s or above with significant experience in pharmaceutical supply chain or operations;

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience running / operating in S&OP processes

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain

• Strong knowledge and experience employing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., lean, six sigma)

• Strong overall business acumen

• People management, including proven coaching skills

• Ability to lead complex projects and manage timelines

• Experience working with third party suppliers

• Strong working knowledge of supply chain management principles

• Strong understanding of GMP and GDP regulations/requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to bring creativity and energy to resolve technical, project or organizational challenges

• Process thinking and operational excellence skills

• Experience working in other countries and international setting a plus

• Excellent ability to collaborate with other functional areas and build effective, productive business relationships.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

TRAVEL:

This position will require 10% travel to external partners in A/NZ and to Vertex offices internationally.
