As Legal Counsel you are a vital member of the Legal team within the company, responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, offering legal guidance on various departments, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. This involves giving fast, pragmatic advice on a wide variety of legal matters while working with senior management and the General Counsel across all areas of the business.
🚀 Where you'll make a difference:
Commercial Agreements:
- You'll review, draft, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including those with customers, collaboration partners, and service providers.
- You'll ensure contracts align with legal requirements and business objectives.
Legal Advisory:
- You'll provide legal advice to teams across the organization, conveying legal concepts and risks in a practical manner for day-to-day activities.
- You'll summarize complex legal issues to facilitate informed decision-making.
Process Design and Management:
- You'll design and manage processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team's operations.
- You'll contribute to streamlining workflows and improving overall team productivity.
Training and Support:
- You'll share legal knowledge within the Legal team and across other departments.
- You'll provide training and support to team members, enabling them to understand legal considerations in their work.
Project Support:
- You'll assist in managing and supporting a variety of ad hoc projects within the company and group as they arise.
- You'll contribute legal insights to ensure projects align with legal requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on regulations impacting new business projects or initiatives, particularly concerning commercial agreements, intellectual property matters, and product-related aspects.
Privacy Matters:
- You'll take ownership of privacy-related matters, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
- You'll advise on data protection and privacy-related issues, including data processing agreements and policies.
External Counsel Management:
- You'll coordinate with external lawyers when specialist advice or additional capacity is required.
- You'll ensure effective collaboration and alignment with external legal resources.
Corporate Transactions Support:
- You'll support the General Counsel on larger corporate transactions such as fundraising, debt finance, and M&A activities.
- You'll provide legal insights to ensure smooth transaction processes and compliance.
🚀 Your skills & experience:
- Hold a law degree from a recognized institution.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and handle changing priorities.
- Exhibit a proactive approach to process improvement and innovation.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations is a plus.
- Ability to adeptly manage stakeholders.
- Ability to apply critical thinking.
- Able to embrace constructive feedback.
- Confidently express opinions in a constructive way.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken, any other language used within our company network is a plus.
